Vietnam -Halong Bay

Halong Bay cruise (2Day 1 Night) 

Halong Bay is a place you must go, if you are considering to visit Hanoi. You will enjoy just by watching mountains from the ship. 

Why? 
*To caution you, nothing astonishing or surprising, yet you find the place magnificent. And by the time the tour ends, you will love Vietnam. Especially when staying overnight in the cruise ship, sitting in the deck with some drinks, it's the most relaxing time you get. 

A. One of the weirdest yet beautiful bay (7 wonders if the nature), alternative to the beautiful beaches for its calmness.


Especially for who? 

A. Anyone who loves beach as a vacation. For those of you wh love sitting on the beach a whole day, you do not only enjoy during the day, but you also enjoy at night under the millions of stars. But if you are above 50, you would truly understand why I recommend. 


At the same time, I'll be honest and tell you the following, 

Water 
-people describe it as an emerald green. Yes it is. But because of the soil in the bay, water isnt crystal clear. So dont expect too much on Ti Top Island where you can actually swim.  

Mountains

Total of 1,600 mountains, you see far more mountains than you expect in general pictures of Halong Bay. Especially if you go into the "Surprise Cave" or climb the top of TiTop island, you see the endless mountains out in the bay. It is amazing to think how vast Halong Bay actually is. 

About cruise ship

It is a rainy season, so weather is not so good. But surprisingly, it did not rain throughout the trip. Cloudy day made the water look dull green, but sometimes the sun came out and brightened the water to emerald green. Anyway, the night view was the best so no complaint on that :) 

If you wanna find a place to quietly think, I recommend you coming here. If you expect something astonishing and adventurous, this isn't the place. 

Highlight if the cruise ship:
Kayaking, kayaking, kayaking. Do kayaking if you wanna enjoy the stone and actually wanna touch it. I was personally amazed the fact plants grew from the stones. 

Squid fishing

Instead, it looks much easer to catch the jelly fish weighing more th a 5KG. we in the end used the net while giving up on catching squids with the fishing lure. 
Cooking class: as you expect, FUN :) especially he eating part. 
Food:
Assume it depends on the ship, but the one I tried, came with the western cuisine. I didn't expect to eat this yet Vietnamese taste western cuisine, personally wanted to eat more traditional Vitma,see cuisine. 
Crew members: great. Everyone was nice. 

Movie

HAHAHA. I couldn't take it. 

6AM Tai Chi class

Moving your body right after you wake up actually allows your brain to think better throughout the day. I finally understand why people do Yoga in the morning. 

"Surprise Cave" 

Nice walk. Towards the end, you can see Halong Bay.  

That's how the course ended :) 


In conclusion

Overall, Halong Bay was amazing. I understand why it is considered one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. What is even better is Halong Bay is calm and quiet compared to other famous natures. So for those seeking for an eye-opening nature yet seek for a relaxing travel, I recommend you visit Halong Bay.  

These cruise ships, full of activities, are good for one time. If I were to travel next time, I will try to create more customized cruise ship that goes where no other cruises exist. In other words, at this moment, I do not see such plans exist. So if I really want to go back, I have to initiate and form a group for the private tour ;)
