Yes today, I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With a mission to create a purposeful, growth oriented border-less community with a bunch of adventurers, me myself living in other country is a must, right?
Anyway, last weekend, I visited Blue Mosque in Shar Alam. opens only certain period of time, either between 10 to 12 or 2PM to 4PM. You will be asked to wear a special Muslim costume in order to enter. For women, you all are required to put hijab. But its okay. and it is a beautiful blue costume :) Personally I enjoyed it (although it was deadly hot).
It is not only beautiful from the outside, but inside is even more fascinating.
For Japanese, it is one of the famous tourist areas in KL. As it proves, the main language in priests' handbook wasnt even English, but Japanese... lol
But seriously, this place is just so beautiful. Somehow did a great marketing in Japan, but I recommend to every traveler visiting Kuala Lumpur.
The reason I went to Shar Alam wasnt only for that, in fact, the main purpose was to visit Bon Odori festival (Japanese traditional dancing festival) hosted in Shar Alam.
Oh fun. The place is such an outskirt suburban areas, at least 40 min away from the KL Sentral, heart of KL. However, so many people. (30,000 people back in 2015). So many vendors selling Japanese festival food and treats. Halal food was of course available.
The best part was a lot of people (much more than i expected) enjoyed dancing "bon-odori" around Yagura (the main stage). It created the huge crowd of dynamic movements. Being a part of it certainly gets me excited (I am sure many others did, as i got a chance to talk with people around me!).
Lastly, the overall experience of Shar Alam was great. Beautiful mosque, beautiful park (didnt really mention in the blog, but there is lake and park right next to the mosque), and amazing festival.
